Refund & Cancellation

Last updated: 25 April 2026. Applies to every paid engagement and any consumer purchase made worldwide.

1. Free things stay free

Visiting sachaltech.com, reading articles, using the Investor Deal Matcher, downloading the PDF deck, applying for a job, contacting us, or saving ROI scenarios on /proposal are all free of charge. There is nothing to refund.

2. Consumer cooling-off (where applicable)

If you are a consumer (not engaging in your business or profession) located in the EU/EEA, UK or any jurisdiction with an equivalent cooling-off right, you may withdraw from a paid distance contract within 14 calendar days of conclusion, without giving any reason, under EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU art. 9, the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, and Quebec Consumer Protection Act art. 54.8. Notice to hello@sachaltech.com is sufficient. If you have asked us to begin work during the 14-day period (which consumers must expressly authorise) you owe a pro-rated amount for work already performed (CRD art. 14(3)). For Ontario the comparable right is Consumer Protection Act, 2002 s. 21–25.

3. B2B engagements (Capital / Co-Build / Strategic)

The vast majority of our engagements are B2B with sophisticated counterparties (founders, companies, funds), where statutory cooling-off rights do not apply. Refunds for these engagements follow the rules below and the specific Statement of Work signed.

4. Deposits, milestones & kill-fees

  • Discovery deposit — non-refundable once we have begun work, because it covers reserved senior time. If we have not yet started, we refund 100 % within 10 business days.
  • Milestone fees — invoiced on acceptance of each milestone. Once accepted in writing (email is sufficient), the fee is non-refundable; you keep the deliverable for that milestone.
  • Termination for convenience — either side may terminate any active engagement on 14 days' written notice. You pay for work performed up to the effective date plus a kill-fee equal to one fortnight of the engaged team's run-rate, capped at 50 % of the next milestone.
  • Termination for cause — uncured material breach (30-day cure period), insolvency, fraud, or unlawful instruction allows the non-breaching party to terminate immediately with no kill-fee.

5. Investor capital

Money invested under the Capital track is governed by the executed subscription documents (SAFE, convertible note, share purchase agreement). Securities purchases are not “refundable” in the consumer sense; investor remedies are those set out in the subscription documents and applicable securities law (Ontario Securities Act, National Instrument 45-106, Nepal Securities Act 2063, US Reg D / Reg S, EU Prospectus Reg. 2017/1129). Always consult independent legal and financial advice before investing. See /proposal.

6. Currency, taxes & payment processor

Refunds are issued in the original currency via the original payment method, less any non-recoverable processor fees, sales tax remitted, or bank charges. We comply with Canadian GST/HST/QST, Ontario provincial sales tax, EU VAT (where registered), UK VAT, Nepal VAT and any applicable digital-services tax.

7. How to request a refund

Email billing@sachaltech.com with your invoice number, the engagement, the amount and the reason. We respond within 5 business days and process approved refunds within 10 business days of approval.

8. Disputes

If we cannot agree, you may use the dispute-resolution procedure in our Terms of Engagement. EU consumers may also use the Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. UK consumers may complain to Trading Standards via Citizens Advice. Canadian consumers may complain to their provincial consumer-protection office. Nepali consumers may file under the Consumer Protection Act 2075.

A boutique studio shipping software, AI & ventures — from Toronto to Kathmandu.

Sachaltech is a senior-only product studio. We engineer software, AI systems and business operations for founders, operators and enterprises across North America, South Asia and beyond. Every engagement combines product strategy, design, full-stack engineering and applied AI in one team — no hand-offs, no agencies in the middle.

We were founded in Toronto, Canada and are also registered in Kathmandu, Nepal. That dual base pairs Canada-grade governance with Nepal-scale execution speed: we operate under Ontario / federal Canadian law (PIPEDA, CASL, Ontario Consumer Protection Act) and Nepal's Companies Act 2063 on every contract.

On this site you can match a deal in the Investor Deal Matcher, compare twelve sectors side by side on /investors/industries (with a one-click PDF deck of the sectors you tick), read in-depth articles on how each part of the studio works, or join the team via careers.
